All Natural Homemade Deodorant

hey guys, so I recently made myself 2 homemade deodorant sticks and today I’m gonna share with you guys the best things about homemade deodorant! My little thesis and recipe is down below:

Deodorants and antiperspirants have a lot of chemicals in them. These chemicals are very harmful for the body internally and externally. One of the main ingredients of an antiperspirant, aluminum, is used to keep you from sweating. But when you apply deodorant over a long period of time, the aluminum salts that are dissolved to block the sweat get stuck in your body. This increases the chances of bone diseases and dementia. Nowadays, companies are making two in ones which means that they are both deodorant and antiperspirant. So this is why I decided to make my own natural deodorant! It’s very easy to make and only requires 7 ingredients!

How To Make The Deodorant:

Ingredients:

  1. Beeswax Pellets
  2. Shea Butter
  3. Coconut Oil
  4. Arrowroot Powder
  5. Baking Soda
  6. Essential Oil (optional)
  7. Deodorant Containers

The Process:

  1. Using the double boiler method, melt the beeswax pellets, shea butter, and coconut oil in the bowl (preferably glass).
  2. Then, take the bowl off of the pot, and stir in the arrowroot powder and baking soda before it cools down. Add in your fragrance/essential oil.
  3. Next, while it’s still a soupy consistency, pour it in your deodorant containers. Note that this recipe will make 2 deodorant sticks. Now you will have to wait 6 hours for it to completely solidify.
  4. Now all there is left to do is apply it!

The Physics:

The Double Broiler:

  • Boiling water produces steam and through convection, spreads around.
  • The steam then heats the bowl through conduction which then leads to the melting of the contents inside the bowl.

The Container:

  • The container uses a screw mechanism (simple machine) which is attached to the twister at the bottom of the container.
  • This makes the application process easy! Just twist, use, and then twist the opposite way to contract the stick.

So, harmless, odor defeating, all natural deodorant doesn’t have to take wonders. It just takes a few ingredients, bowls, and most importantly a stove. 😀
