Yoohoo! Need a place to go on a trip after the rusty pandemic? I’ve got it! North Carolina might be just the place you’ll want to go. North Carolina is known for being the Tar Heel State and for Krispy Kreme. (Tar Heel because N.C.’s people centuries ago produced a lot of tar and it stuck to their heels and therefore was nicknamed the Tar Heel State). But when I went there recently I discovered an amazing secret in the city of Danbury, N.C. Here are a few of the places around Raleigh.
Window Falls Trail, Danbury, N.C:
The first day in N.C. me and my friends (who lived there) went to Hanging Rock State Park. It was basically like a hike+picnic type time for us and we had a dickens of time. We went two different trails which were 3.5 miles combined. The first trail we went to was called Window Falls Trail which was about 1.9 miles long and at the end the waterfall there has a lot of huge rocks to climb. And, of course, I climbed all of them. It’s not very tiring and has a lot of jumping plus downhill.
Hanging Rock Trails, Danbury, N.C:
This trail is the main trail of the entire state park: Hanging Rock Trails because it is at the end of this trail that the rocks are hanging on to the edge of the mountain. This trail unlike the other one is very tiring and has a lot of uphill so you really have to use your muscle power. But it’s good exercise and helps the heart a lot. Climbing the hanging rocks here and doing some weird feats on the trees is how I got my nickname: Spidergirl.
Hiking is not the only option in the summer especially. We also went to Duke Gardens in the morning and spent the evening swimming. The next day we spent the morning with my cousins who invited us over and in the evening we went swimming again.:D And so much greenery in N.C. that even if you don’t anywhere, you can sit in your balcony and enjoy the sounds and fresh scents of Mother Nature.
Fun Fact?
North Carolina was the 9th colony created by the European settlers.
Remember to mask up during your flights!:D
