Hey everybody, I recently read this book called The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl. It is about friendship, genius math brain, and some shelter dogs. For especially people who love math it is an interesting book to read. For those who don’t like math it still is a good book. It also gives the digits of Pi and the Fibonacci spiral explanation.
Here is the Summary: Lucy Callahan doesn’t remember it, but she was struck by lightning. The strike damaged part of her brain but, rewired with a genius level of math skills. She has been homeschooled by her grandmother ever since then.
Now, at the age of twelve she is ready for college, but her grandmother wants her to go to public middle school first. On the first day she makes a friend named Windy. After she started, Windy’s used to be friends start making fun of her rigid routines. The rigid routines started because of the lightning strike. After a few weeks, her teacher assigned a Cougars Care Project, which is to help animals or people.
Lucy, Windy, and another partner Levi decide to help dogs get adopted quicker. Do you want to know how they got the dogs? I think you should read the book to find out. They find this dog named Pi. Lucy knew this was a special dog. But after a few tests the doctors said the dog had cancer. The doctors said he would have to be taken to Animal Control Center where the people there would kill the dog. Lucy struggles to get the dog adopted. Do you think Pi got adopted?
The End
It Is a book filled with math, care, and love and I really say you should read the book. I couldn’t stop reading it once I picked it up. Here is the image of Pi symbol:
